As promised, a maintenance release is out. This 0.1.6 beta version is coming right from the trunk and is bundled with the latest Simplepie. This version also introduces a new feature called “Let’s dig the moon for cheese” with allow to show all feeds titles in cache.

For those who already had a moonmoon installed, upgrading is pretty easy:

• backup your people.opml and your config.yml
• remove the old moonmoon
• install the new moonmoon
• restore your files

I got a few e-mails asking about the current status of the development and I really appreciate your interest for moonmoon. So here are some news. I commited the latest Simplepie to the trunk this morning. It should fix problems with some feeds but some are still not loading properly. For the next release, I’m considering to make moonmoon parser independant so we should be able to use Magpie instead of Simplepie. Obviously, making the parsing process more robust will become a priority.
